This is an advanced training program that covers concepts of clustering using Open Source technologies on Linux platform. This training program provides insight into planning and designing clusters using Linux and Open Source clustering software. Coverage on Linux-HA clusters (heartbeat, mon, nbd, drbd), Network load-balanced clusters using Linux Virtual Server, Performance clusters using OpenMosix and OSCAR, data redundancy and backup strategies using NFS and Rsync.

If you require a detailed course coverage description for this topic, kindly place a request at my email address [ training at chandrashekar dot info ].

Dear Magdoom,

You can setup various types of clusters on Linux depending on your requirements. For high-availability/load-balanced clusters - you can try configuring heartbeat+DRBD (for high-availability storage management) or you can try heartbeat+LVS (for high-availability network services management). http://www.linux-ha.org/ provides lots of information about ongoing HA cluster projects by integration of various components.

If you are looking for high-performance computing clusters - then you can try OpenMosix, XtreemOS project, and so on - there are many HPC projects out there. Your best bet would be to look-up http://www.linuxhpc.org/. Lots of research has gone into HPC clusters by IBM, HP and SGI - you can look at their developer websites to get an insight on their projects.

Hope this information helps you.
