Training session for Introduction to the GNU/Linux environment! has been scheduled to commence from February 18th, 2005. The duration of this course will be for one month (4 hours a day, 3 days a week, 48 hours in total). The course highlights are as follows:
- Learn fundamental concepts of UNIX on the GNU/Linux environment.
- Learn various commands and utilities on GNU/Linux and be a power-user.
- Learn how to install and configure various GNU/Linux distributions.
- Learn installation and configuration of various software packages on GNU/Linux.
- Learn how to configure various system services and startup scripts.
- Master the art of shell scripting (using BASH) on the GNU/Linux environment.
- Get free e-books on CD-ROM along with a live installable GNU/Linux distribution.
This training session is recommended for computer science students and professionals with basic knowledge of computer fundamentals. The trainee will spend most part of the training session mastering the command-line and the core/fundamental concepts of UNIX (and GNU/Linux).
